A DAY IN THE LIFE OF SCHOOL BASED APPRENTICE – TIFFANY SWANPOEL

Golden West Employment Solutions believes that kick starting your career as a school based Apprentice or Trainee is a great way to get ahead in life. Tiffany Swanpoel is just one trainee has chosen this path and is currently undertaking a school based traineeship in Business Administration. Tiffany is employed by Golden West Employment Solutions and is hosted to Gary Saunders Real Estate.
Tiffany is enjoying all aspects of her traineeship, and is learning different areas of the business. “I am always meeting new people and learning to deal with different situations.”
Commencing her day at work at 8.30am, Tiffany starts by printing rental receipts of all monies that has been deposited into the account. “After printing the rental receipts I reconcile the account using Console Computer Package to back up and save the file.” Before lunch Tiffany answers the phone and directs queries to the appropriate people and on occasion will accompany her host supervisor Andrew on rental inspections.
After lunch Tiffany continues her day by organising contracts to be sent to clients and charging back advertising. Before her day finishes at 4.00pm, she organising the banking and goes to the post office. “Golden West makes it easier on me as I don’t have to worry about my pay.” Tiffany says one of her greatest achievements is that she is able to do her Real Estate Sales License so she can one day go on to Property Management.
Tiffany decided to undertake a school based traineeship, as she wasn’t thoroughly enjoying school. “By completely a school based traineeship I am gaining more experience, rather than dropping out of school completely. Also I am gaining more life experience now than I would if I just stayed at school. I am one step ahead.”
Tiffany’s supervisor, Andrew says that Tiffany has great industry knowledge and a full understanding on how the Real Estate Industry works and believes she will have a successful career in Real Estate. “Tiffany has proven her abilities and we are paying for her to undertake further industry training so she can become a property manager or salesperson.” Andrew believes the benefits of using Golden West is that all of Tiffany’s paperwork is organised for her and she receives regular visits from her Training and Employment Coordinator.
Golden West Training and Employment Coordinator, Laura Bridgeman said “Tiffany is a dedicated young girl and despite many disruptions over the past year, Tiffany has been committed to completing her traineeship and we are proud of her achievements so far”.
