Golden West Apprenticeships attended the 2011 Queensland Training Awards held in Kingaroy on July 29th, where two of our completed trainees were nominated in two separate categories.
Fraser McIntyre was nominated for and won the School-Based Trainee of the Year award and Jason French was nominated for and a finalist of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year category.
“It was exciting to be nominated and win in my category. This has definitely been a good experience and I’m looking forward to progressing to the State Finals in Brisbane. I would tell other apprentices and trainees to work hard, don’t procrastinate and nominate yourself.” Fraser said about winning his award.
Jason said about being a finalist “I didn’t expect to be a finalist, but I definitely feel good about myself. It’s great that someone young was given the chance to be here. I am very appreciative to have been nominated.”
Fraser attended the 2011 State Queensland Training Awards in Brisbane on September 2nd. Unfortunately Fraser was unsuccessful, however, his achievements have been recognised and he has been a great role model for other trainees.
