After receiving a taste of the hospitality industry, program participant Michelle Gorry has successfully secured a traineeship with Golden West Apprenticeships, hosted at Bogarts Coffee Lounge.

Michelle Gorry, is one of nine participants who successfully completed the Maranoa Hospitality Skills Initiative Access Program which provided training in serving food and beverages to customers, responsible service of alcohol and organising and preparing food, workplace hygiene procedures, cleaning and maintaining kitchen premises and preparing and serving espresso coffee to jobseekers.

After completing the work experience component of the training with Bogarts Coffee Lounge, Beth Humphreys was pleased to offer Michelle a part time traineeship through Golden West Apprenticeships.

“Michelle was a model student for the duration of the program, attending every day and actively participating in all aspects of the program, we were thrilled to learn that Bogarts wanted her as a trainee” said Aiva Reisz, Access Program Coordinator from Golden West Apprenticeships.

“The program has been such a success, we have already successfully completed nine participants and are considering running it again in Roma and in other locations where the hospitality businesses are struggling for skilled staff” said Aiva.
