Group Training is a training and employment arrangement where an organisation, known as a Group Training Organisation (GTO), such as Golden West Apprenticeships, employs apprentices and trainees under an Apprenticeship/Traineeship Training Contract and places them with host employers.
Group Training is an attractive option for many businesses employing apprentices and trainees, as Golden West Apprenticeships is the legal employer. This takes the risk and hard work out of employing an apprentice or trainee.

A dedicated Training and Employment Coordinator will be allocated to your business, who will conduct regular onsite face to face visits to monitor work performance, attendance and attitude of your apprentice / trainee, which ensures everything is on track and progressing smoothly.

The cost to host an apprentice or trainee depends on the relevant industry award, allowances and year level.
Golden West Apprenticeships pays the apprentice or trainee weekly based on their approved timesheet, and will send you one weekly, all-inclusive invoice with wages, superannuation, work cover insurance, leave entitlement and college blocks built in.
As part of our service to host employers, Golden West Apprenticeships make the payments for superannuation, PAYG taxation, WorkCover and leave loading.
Golden West Apprenticeships are insured through the Queensland Workers Compensation Scheme which provides cover if our apprentices or trainees are injured at work. Golden West Apprenticeships will lodge a claim and manage the rehabilitation process.
We understand that businesses may need to hand back apprentices or trainees if business slows down or for other reasons. Business simply provide two weeks of notice to Golden West Apprenticeships. Hand backs are handled in a professional and efficient manner ensuring the employee transitions into another position smoothly.
